Remembrance day (edited)

This is becoming interesting. 

I feel I do have to write both in Dutch and in English! Sometimes I start in English, like this evening and I made a mistake and whoops .. blog was gone. So I then started again, in Dutch. 

I can only say that my English is improving, good for the old brain mass to be stretched. 

Today I wrote about Dutch Remembrance day. 

I remember being in the U.K a year and a half ago. So many people were walking with a special pin (don't know the right English word, someone please help me out!) in honour of Remembrance day over there. 

We don't see that in Holland anymore. I remember when I was a child, people were wearing orange coloured ribbons. Not done anymore! 

As always it was rather emotional. On television I saw the memorial service where the queen is present and the mayor of Amsterdam holds a speech. 

This year the emphasis was on togetherness, something a lot of people tend to forget. 

It reminded me of the 2nd Principle of Spiritualism - the Brotherhood of man. I think it is good to remember, at least once a year, where we have come (what we have accomplished), how many generations and still today, many people out there are fighting for our human right to be free. 

Freedom of speech, religion, thought, is a privilege and let's please help each other to remember that.
