South Korea - 3

Yesterday I was so jet-lagged that I did not touch my laptop till late. I couldn't find the energy to write, I was in the survival mode.

At 9 o'clock in the morning I had my appointment with the personal trainer. It is all service from the hotel, incredible isn't it :0)

Well, after half an hour of "working out" I was totally bushed. I did see the inside of a gym before, of course, but I have hardly ever touched one of those working-out-machines. Well .. I came out of it more dead than alive. After recuperating in the hotel room for over an hour I went for the next adventure. The swimming pool.

The swimming pool has lanes of 50 metres and I set my goal for 10 laps.

I managed to do that. To my pleasure .. that water is SALT. Well, the hotel is situated near the East sea aka the Japanese sea, so the water is probably easy to use and swimming is so much more agreeable than in chlorined water. After the swimming pool off to the spa.

Well .. what about the spa. I didn't know where to start. So much variety of baths in there and most incredible of all, the whole thing is illuminated by infrared light. I could just feel my body saying "hurray". On the other hand, as I mentioned before I was still rather jetlagged and I'll be here for a month. I dwelled in there for a good hour and I will return later today with scrubbing material, because that is what people do in the spa as well. There is a strict division between women and man, thank God. There are also 4 sauna cabins and against one wall I saw 2 huge plaques of amethyst, over 2 metres high, embedded in concrete. Sure enough I had to feel their energy. It was WOW!! I felt really revived after all this but all the impressions have an impact. Late in the afternoon a group of school children arrived at the hotel. The girls (around 15) were residing on our floor. At 23:30 I phoned the reception to ask for noise reducing measures. Pffew. So much for a good nights' sleep.
