Listening to Nature part 3

“One’s happiness depends less on what he knows than on what he feels.” (Liberty Hyde Bailey)

The inner urge to “Know” is very strong within me. Studying is a mental process that keeps the mind very busy and buzzing. Through meditation I have found a way to just “Be” and become quiet and at one with my surroundings.

If I choose to focus on just one object and preferably a mineral, a plant, a flower or an animal I become aware of their aliveness, their core, their needs. I don’t have to know their name or their origin or what species they belong to, the joy lies in the kinship I experience.

If you like, just try and look at everything as though you are seeing it for the very first time, with the eyes of a child ... and enjoy.

With love,

Juliet Joan
