What is mediumship?
Many books have been written about the subject and I am not going to quote. My perception of mediumship is, that it is a state of being where an individual (of flesh and blood) acts (or has to ability to act) as the in-between for the "unseen" (Spirit) world and people living in the flesh.
The medium can learn to develop and hone the faculties needed in order to become a better "channel" and intermediary for the Spirit world.
The Arthur Findlay College (AFC) and what you can "do" there
After hearing many stories about the AFC I decided to go and find out about it and about mediumship and I paid the first of many visits to the college in 2008. (For those of you, interested in the programme you can have a look at their website: http://www.arthurfindlaycollege.org/ )It was an exciting first visit with very intense personal experiences and I have been going there many times afterwards, following many different courses, trying to find out about the English way of working and trying to compare that with my own experiences, feelings and ideas and most of all to get a hold on the meaning of mediumship.
I have met many interesting people there and made many friends.
The Spiritualist National Union International (SNUi) and the Arthur Findlay College (AFC)
It would not be fair to write about The Arthur Findlay College without mentioning the Spiritualist National Union International (https://www.snu.org.uk/spiritualists-national-international), THE place, in fact where I have learned to express and share my views on Spiritualism, which is, after all, the umbrella under which mediumship resides. They are both branches of the Spiritualist National Union (http://www.snu.org.uk/)
Many people do not know about this.
The interest in the AFC to mediums from all over the world is huge, but not everyone has the possibility to visit.
SNUi, however, offers on-line classes on a daily basis, that can be attended by people world-wide. You need a computer with internet access and a headset with microphone, in order to do that.
The classes are about Spiritualist subjects, not just mediumship and SNUi has a little under 1000 members today, from 38 different countries.
A fine example of progress .. taking Spiritualism into the 21st century, with the use of nowadays technology.
The caleidoscope ..
My next post on this subject will be the actual description of my "palette", the caleidoscope. All in all it has been a journey of more than 20 years, with pitfalls and joy and an overwhelming need to share.
With love,
Juliet Joan
